Higher Education System Engineers in Ethiopia Complete Intensive Training

EthERNet, in collaboration with the UbuntuNet Alliance, has supported an intensive technical training programme aimed at strengthening the capacity of higher education system engineers in Ethiopia.

The training brought together system engineers and ICT professionals from Ethiopian higher education institutions for an intensive programme focused on strengthening practical skills in modern infrastructure, systems administration, and services supporting research and education.

The programme provided participants with opportunities to deepen their technical knowledge through hands-on sessions, practical exercises, and knowledge sharing. The training also encouraged collaboration among ICT professionals from different institutions and promoted the exchange of experiences and best practices within Ethiopia's higher education community.

Through initiatives such as this, EthERNet continues to work with its member institutions and regional partners to strengthen the technical capacity required to operate reliable and secure digital infrastructure for higher education and research.

The programme also contributes to the broader efforts of the UbuntuNet Alliance to build sustainable technical capacity across its member National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) and their connected institutions.

By strengthening local expertise, institutions are better positioned to deliver dependable digital services, support researchers and students, and participate effectively in regional and international research and education networks.
